Convert 2D Image to 3D β Interactive Depth Preview
Turn any 2D image into an interactive 3D depth relief model that you can rotate, tilt, and export for Blender. PixLocal uses offline depth estimation technology to generate a 3D preview from regular photos.
Technology
PixLocal utilizes depth estimation technology running via ONNX Runtime inside your web browser:
- Depth estimation β Calculates the distance of each pixel from the camera
- Depth map generation β Creates a grayscale depth map
- 3D mesh rendering β Renders the 3D model from the depth map using Three.js
Features
Interactive 3D Preview
Drag your mouse to rotate the 3D model. The best viewing angle is within Β±30Β° from the front view (2.5D depth relief).
Detailed Controls
- Depth Strength: Increase/decrease the intensity of the depth effect
- Light Intensity: Adjust the lighting shining on the object
- Mesh Quality: Choose the resolution of the 3D mesh
Diverse Export Options
- GLB file β Import directly into Blender, Unity, or Unreal
- Depth Map PNG β Grayscale depth map
- Normal Map PNG β Normal map for 3D rendering
How to Use
- Upload any image
- Click "Convert to 3D Preview"
- Wait for processing (initial engine download)
- Rotate and zoom to view the 3D preview
- Adjust depth strength and lighting
- Export GLB, Depth Map, or Normal Map
Applications
- 3D Artists: Generate quick base meshes from reference images
- Game Developers: Create parallax and depth-based effects
- Social Media: Eye-catching 3D photos for Facebook and Instagram
- Presentations: Bring 3D depth effects to your slides
- Education: Illustrate depth perception concepts
Notes
- This is a 2.5D depth relief, not a full 3D reconstruction
- Best results are achieved with images having clear foregrounds and backgrounds
- GLB files can be imported directly into Blender for further edits
